The Principals & Senior Management

JAMES E. MEEHAN

James has spent his career in executive leadership and legal counsel positions with international investment and hedge funds. Mr. Meehan was a managing director at Cantor Fitzgerald and New Oak Capital focusing on alternative assets, including evaluating for finance and acquisition over $45B of life settlement portfolios and structured product prior to co-founding and forming Rubicon Risk Analytics LLC, as Managing Principal and worked for the Bank of Bermuda in the corporate trust division focused on alternative asset classes. Ceded and sponsored by global institutions, Rubicon executed on a hedge fund hybrid strategy combining non-correlated cash flows/credit risk with longevity instruments. It had active book more than $6 billion covering most classes of longevity linked asset investment exposures.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Meehan has placed asset manager and investors in a variety of private place insurance products and fund structures for asset protection, tax efficiencies and global market reach. Today, Mr. Meehan is a Principal of Signal Point Capital, LLC, providing capital markets and investor opportunity management in addition to facilitating the daily operations of key asset origination relationships.

MICHAEL M. MANLEY, CFA

Michael has over 25 years’ experience as a quantitative analyst and financial engineer in institutional capital markets. He is known for focusing on esoteric financial asset classes and down the credit curve structured finance transactions, where his formal engineering background spurred development of proprietary analytic models and valuation methodologies.  His work was differentiated by regularly applying simulation techniques and stochastic processes to the valuation and trading of complex and especially distressed financial assets.

He has followed the emergence of the senior life settlement industry realizing certain market phenomena were preventing systematic capital formation and market expansion. Michael has worked with highly regarded consulting actuaries in the space and proposed alternative strategies and financial structures designed to optimize institutional capital formation and the development of consumer centric economic alternatives in the space.

Prior to launching Extropy, Michael worked with select partners as a self-directed consultant and investment banker across several opportunities and various clients. His activities include structuring investments and sourcing capital related to real estate development projects, emerging alternative energy technologies and launching business platforms arbitraging established business models in various consumer finance sectors.

SALVATORE IMPARATO

Sal has spent the last 42 years in the insurance, financial and longevity markets. Initially owning an operating insurance agencies in the New York City area. He expanded his business by offering financial advice (Securities licensed series 6, 7, 24 and 63). He entered the life settlement industry In its early stages working as National and International marketing director for a multi-state provider that was acquired by Cantor Fitzgerald before moving on to director of operations for Rubicon Risk Analytics. Currently acting director of operations in the field of structured settlements for Signal Point Capital.

Sal has a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from Lehman College, New York, New York and a Master in Business Administration with specialization in International Business, South University, Savannah, Georgia.

ROBERT J. GATTI

Robert is an experienced financial executive with strong knowledge of global capital markets. Over his career, Mr. Gatti held various executive positions at Cantor Fitzgerald, HSBC, Citigroup; and JP Morgan Chase prior to becoming the CEO of LPG Ltd.; a vertically integrated investment advisor, providing origination, structuring and advisory services institutional clients in the longevity linked asset market space. LPG was responsible for placing over $500MM of longevity exposure.

Over his career, Mr. Gatti has placed over $1 Billion in life contingent assets through a variety of investors and structures. Currently, Mr. Gatti, is the founder and President of Wharton Advisors Corp, providing investors structuring, origination and portfolio management services. Wharton has successfully raised assets to launch a Luxenberg based longevity fund and currently advises several clients on capital market and investment opportunities as well as providing asset management and servicing.

Mr. Gatti, received his Bachelors of Science in Business from St John’s University graduating Summa cum Laude.

VINCENT PELLEGRINO

Vincent has an extensive background in the Life Insurance Settlement and Premium Finance industry. He has spent almost his entire career working in this asset class.  Vincent served as Director at Credit Suisse Securities USA where he was the head of the Fixed Income Sales team that focused on originating longevity risk.  He oversaw a sales team of 20+ professionals that originated in excess of $4 billion of life insurance settlements and premium finance loans. He was Vice President of National Sales for Premium Funding Group, a boutique specialty finance firm.  He specialized in negotiating leverage facilities with national and regional banks on behalf of high net worth individuals in conjunction with business and estate planning as well as assisting clients in monetizing life insurance policies that were no longer needed or performing.  Vincent started his career at AIG, a pioneer in the market of institutional investing in the longevity risk market space.  He eventually became the National Sales Director for AIG’s highly successful Capital Maximization Strategy program (CMS).  His core focus was providing credit facilities, issued by AIG, to high net worth individuals in conjunction with business and estate planning.  Vincent also owned his own consulting firm where he engaged in joint casework with independent insurance producers and financial advisors in helping design policy and funding structures for their high net worth clients as well as monetizing life insurance policies that were no longer needed or performing.

Vincent obtained his Bachelors of Science in Public Administration from The University of Scranton and holds FINRA licenses 7,63,66,26 as well as his Life Accident and Health License and Property and Casualty License.

ROBERT M. ROGERS JR. ACTUARY, ASA, MAAA

Robert is an insurance industry veteran with over 37 years experience in the structuring and design of insurance products including pricing some of the first Universal Life products in the market. Robert has been  active in the life settlement market since 2002 and in 2004 developed and brought to market the first pricing and premium optimization software. Bob has worked with over 15 different funds and 60 clients advising them on acquisition, evaluation,  policy administration, premium management and optimization.

Robert has a Bachelor of  Science in Math & Education with a minor in Economics from Montclair State. He is also a member of the Society of Actuaries  and member of the American Academy of Actuaries  since 1993.
